Phase Manager firmware update error or crash : how to fix it ?

Modified on Fri, 4 Sep at 6:15 PM

If a firmware update fails, freezes, or shows an error in Phase Manager (such as "Oops! It seems that something went wrong" or an error code), here is how to fix it step by step.

Fix the USB connection

  1. Quit Phase Manager and relaunch it.
  2. Unplug the Receiver and plug it back in.
  3. Try a different USB cable.
  4. Try a different USB port on your computer.
  5. Connect the Receiver through a powered USB hub instead of directly to the computer.

If you're on Windows and the issue persists, try reinstalling the USB driver:

  1. Open Device Manager and go to "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
  2. Right-click on Phase, then click "Update driver".
  3. Select "Browse my computer for driver software".
  4. Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
  5. Choose "WinUSB" and confirm.
  6. Restart your computer, quit all other programs, unplug all other USB devices, then try the update again.

If none of the above works, try updating the firmware on a different computer.

Reinstall the firmware manually (Recovery Mode)

If the update failed mid-way and the Receiver is no longer responding normally:

  1. Open Phase Manager and connect the Receiver.
  2. Click on the Update Center (top right corner).
  3. Right-click on the Receiver and select "Update Receiver".
  4. Once the update is complete, re-link the Remotes by long-pressing the A or B button (3 seconds each).

If the error persists after all these steps, get in touch with the team and describe what happens when you try to update.
