Phase Essential Remote blinks red, won't charge, or turns off

Modified on Fri, 4 Sep at 4:35 PM

If a Remote's LED strip blinks red continuously while charging in the Receiver, or if the Remote turns off as soon as you take it out, here are the steps to try to fix it.

1. Check the power source

A red blinking LED may mean the Receiver is not receiving enough power to charge the Remotes.

Connect the Receiver directly to a wall outlet using a 5V/500mA charger and check if the red blinking stops.

If it stops: the issue is with your power source. Avoid powering the Receiver from a mixer USB port or an unpowered USB hub. Use a wall outlet or a powered USB hub instead.

If the red blinking continues: move to step 2.

2. Reinstall the firmware on the Remote

A firmware installation error may cause this behavior. To fix it:

  1. Open Phase Manager and connect the Receiver to your computer.
  2. Click "Update Center" in the top right corner.
  3. In the left panel, right-click the Remote (A or B) that blinks red.
  4. Select "Update Remote" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Once the update is complete, place the Remote back in the Receiver and let it charge for 2 full hours before taking it out.
  6. Take the Remote out and wait for calibration to complete. It may take slightly longer than usual after a firmware reinstall.

Update Remote in Phase Manager

If the Remote works normally after this: you are good to go.

If it still turns off when taken out: move to step 3.

3. Contact support

If the Remote still turns off after a full 2-hour charge, the battery may need to be replaced. Reach out to the team and include a short video showing the Remote turning off when taken out of the Receiver. This will help process your request faster.

Remote still not working?
The Phase team will take it from there.
