Phase Manager is built for Intel processors. On Mac computers with Apple silicon chips (M1 to M5), including on macOS 27 Golden Gate, it needs Rosetta to run.
Symptoms
- macOS asks you to install Rosetta when you launch Phase Manager
- Phase Manager doesn't open on your M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5 Mac
- The Phase Manager icon bounces in the Dock, then closes
- Phase Manager stopped working after you updated to macOS Golden Gate
Why Phase Manager needs Rosetta on Apple silicon Macs
Rosetta is a free Apple tool that lets Intel apps run on Apple silicon Macs. If it's missing, macOS offers to install it the first time you open Phase Manager. On an Intel Mac, Rosetta is not needed and this article doesn't apply.
How to install Rosetta for Phase Manager
- Accept the Rosetta prompt
Quit Phase Manager and open it again. If Rosetta is missing, macOS shows an installation window. Click Install, enter your Mac password and wait for the installation to finish. Then open Phase Manager. - No prompt? Install Rosetta from Terminal
If the installation window never shows up, open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal). Paste this command and press Enter:softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
Enter your Mac password if asked. Once the installation is done, open Phase Manager again. - Reinstall the latest Phase Manager
If Phase Manager still won't open, uninstall it and reinstall the latest version.
