Phase DVS scope not showing a perfect circle

Modified on Fri, 4 Sep at 5:57 PM

When using Phase in DVS mode, the calibration scope in your DJ software should display a clean, round circle. If it doesn't, here are the most common causes and how to fix each one.

A dot or a tiny line in the center

Phase may not be correctly set up with your DJ equipment. Check your mixer connections and your software settings, and make sure the mixer input is set to LINE (not PHONO).

A straight horizontal or vertical line

One RCA channel (left or right) is missing. Try a different RCA cable first. If the issue persists, test each channel separately: plug only the red cable, then only the white cable, and check whether the signal appears on all 4 channels in your software. If one channel remains silent, the audio output may be defective.

The circle is not visible at all

You may be zoomed in too far on the scope. In Serato, move the zoom slider all the way to the left to display the full circle.

Normal behavior: small pulse on the Serato scope

If you are using Phase in DVS mode with Serato, you may notice a small regular pulse on the scope and a brief grey portion on the red tracking bar. This is expected: it is how Phase prevents Serato from switching to internal mode and does not affect signal quality.

Note on HID mode

If you are using Phase in HID mode (USB only, no RCA cables), the scope will show nothing. This is normal: in HID mode, no analog signal is sent and the scope does not apply.

If the issue persists after following these steps, get in touch with the team and include a video showing the scope after troubleshooting.
