This may happen when the USB connection between Phase and Serato DJ Pro drops during a session. When it does, Serato switches to "WIR" or "INT" mode, the Remotes stop controlling the software, and one deck may start spinning at full speed.
Here is what to do to get back in control.
Steps
- Re-pair the Remotes
Place both Remotes back in the Receiver and long-press the A and B buttons to re-pair them. Take them out on a flat, still surface and wait for the LEDs to turn solid. Then switch back to WIR or REL mode depending on your setup to resume control.
- Unplug and replug the Receiver
If re-pairing did not fix it, unplug the USB cable from the Receiver and plug it back in. Wait for Serato to detect the unit again before switching back to WIR or REL mode. - Try a different USB cable and port
A faulty cable or a USB hub can cause intermittent disconnections. Plug the Receiver directly into a USB port on your computer, not a mixer USB port or a hub. - Check your USB power management settings
If disconnections keep happening, your computer may be cutting USB power to save energy. Review your power settings using the Serato guides:
Optimization Guide for Mac
Optimization Guide for Windows - Reduce wireless interference
Keep the Receiver close to the turntables and away from WiFi routers, Bluetooth devices, and other 2.4 GHz equipment. Interference can cause the Receiver to drop its connection to the Remotes mid-session. - Update to the latest firmware
Open Phase Manager and confirm both Remotes and the Receiver are on firmware v9.0. Some disconnection issues were fixed in previous updates. See the firmware update guide if needed.
Common Issues
Serato stays on INT mode after re-pairing
Switch back to WIR or REL mode manually in Serato. If the option is greyed out, unplug and replug the Receiver and try again.
The issue keeps happening every session
Apply the Serato optimization guide for your OS (step 4) and check for wireless interference sources near your setup (step 5).
