Phase Essential setup requirements : what do I need?

Here is everything you need to use Phase Essential, whether you are just getting started or setting up a new rig.

Hardware

At least one motorized DJ turntable. No needle or timecode vinyl required.
In HID mode, Phase connects via USB only, but some software require a connected hardware device for activation. Check the setup guide for your software.
A mixer or audio interface, required for DVS mode.
A Mac or Windows computer
One free USB port on your computer
Phase Manager installed (free)

The Phase Receiver is powered via USB (5V). You can use a free port on your computer, a powered USB hub, or a 5V wall charger. Do not use a fast charger, this can damage the unit.

Compatible DJ software

Phase Essential works with these DJ software below, in two connection modes: HID (USB only, no RCA between Phase and your mixer) and DVS (RCA cables from the Phase Receiver to your mixer or audio interface).

Mac: macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or higher, including Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3)
Windows: Windows 10 or higher

Phase Firmware requirement

Firmware v9.0 is required to use HID mode with any software. Check your version and update via Phase Manager.
