How to Update Your Phase
Keeping your Phase firmware up to date is the single best thing you can do for performance and stability. Updates bring new features, bug fixes, and battery improvements.
What you need
- Phase Manager installed (v2.4.6): phasedj.com/configuration
- Compatible OS: macOS 10.12 or higher, Windows 10 or higher
- Phase Receiver connected via USB to your computer
- Internet connection
Steps
- Open Phase Manager
If an update is available for Phase Manager itself, a notification will appear in the header bar. Update the app first. - Plug your Phase Receiver into your computer via USB. The unit will be detected automatically.
- If a firmware update is available, a red button will appear on the main dashboard. Click it to go to the Update Center.
- In the Update Center, follow the on-screen instructions to update the Receiver. The process takes a few minutes.
- Once the Receiver update is complete, leave both Remotes in the docks and re-link them by long-pressing the A and B setup buttons for 3 seconds each.
- Take the Remotes out of the Receiver
The firmware will finish installing on the Remotes at this stage. The LEDs may take a bit longer than usual to turn solid. Wait until they do before using them.
FAQ
What is the difference between Phase Manager and the firmware?
Phase Manager is the app running on your computer. The firmware is the program installed directly on the Receiver and Remotes. Phase Manager lets you install and update the firmware, but they are separate things.
Do I need to update even if everything seems to work fine?
Yes. Firmware updates often include under-the-hood improvements that are not always visible but matter for reliability and battery life.
What is the latest firmware version?
Firmware v9.0 is the current version. You can see your current version in Phase Manager on the main dashboard.
