Before using the Remotes, their internal sensors have to be calibrated. For proper calibration, the Remotes should be placed on a flat and still surface. The LED strip will move up and down indicating the sensors inside the Remotes are calibrating. As these are motion sensors, it is very important to keep the Remotes motionless as long as the LEDs go back and forth. This will allow the sensors to find the zero point, and thus ensure the best accuracy when spinning the Remotes.
It takes a few seconds for the LED strip to fill up, which means the Remotes are ready to be used. Do not move the Remote as long as the LED is animated.
f the Remotes appear as “not found”, place them into the Receiver, unplug the USB cable from the Receiver and plug the cable to the Receiver again. The Remotes should light up, charge, and appear in Phase Manager.
You can also link the Remotes again to the Receiver, even if the seem to be already linked. Here is how to link the Remotes:
⚠️ Please note that the "Manual calibration" feature is different from the mandatory calibration step explained above. It is optional and is only useful if you notice a difference between your turntable's pitch and the pitch value displayed on the software decks.
This is why we added the Manual Calibration feature, allowing you to perfectly calibrate your Remotes at the right speed according to your setup and environment.
The Manual Calibration is located in Phase Manager, in the Settings.
Follow the instructions displayed on the software to perform a calibration, and you should no longer have pitch or BPM differences with your Phase.
If you get an error message when running the calibration process, check the following points to make sure it will succeed.
- Make sure your remotes are linked to the Receiver.
- Make sure the Remotes’ internal sensors are calibrated before starting the manual calibration: their LEDs are solid before you spin the turntables.
- Make sure your RPM settings in Phase Manager are the same as your turntables’ (33, 45 or 78 RPM).
- Make sure the pitch sliders on your turntables are exactly at +/- 0.
If the issue persists, try these steps, in this order:
- Unplug the Phase unit.
- Quit Phase Manager.
- Plug the unit back.
- Launch Phase Manager, take your Remotes out, spin them, and run the manual calibration again.
