POWERING YOUR PHASE
The Phase is turned on and off by plugging and unplugging the cable. When plugging the Phase, several LEDs indicate that your unit is properly powered.
There are two small LEDs at the back of the Phase Receiver (above the USB port) that are important to determine proper functioning.
- The lightning icon, which indicates that the Receiver is correctly powered.
- The connect icon, indicating the Phase Receiver is connected and communicating with a laptop. If you power the Receiver using a wall outlet, you will only see the lightning icon light up.
You can use the power source of your choice for your Phase: either a free USB port on your computer, a powered USB hub, or a wall outlet with a brick charger delivering at least 5V. Your Phase will function in both cases. Unless you want to use the HID integration, it is not mandatory to plug the unit to your computer to use it, it just has to be powered.
Can I power the Phase Receiver from my Mixer USB hub?
In most cases, Phase will work fine when powered by your mixer if it features a USB hub.
However, keep in mind that some mixers may not deliver enough power to charge the Remotes: this might cause red flashing LEDs, indicating the unit is underpowered. This can also cause disconnections with some devices, in which case the "USB Accessories disabled" message will be displayed.
This is a sign the Phase should be plugged to your computer, or to a powered USB hub.
If you experience any specific issues when the unit is plugged to your mixer's USB hub, please try connecting is straight to your laptop

CHARGING THE REMOTES AND OPTIMIZE BATTERY LIFE
When the Remotes are placed into the Phase Receiver, they automatically start charging if your Phase is powered through a computer or power outlet. The normal charging animation on the Remotes’ LED is an upward movement (as if the Remotes were filling up) and the LED dots on the Phase Receiver should be showing an outward motion.
It takes about two hours to fully charge your Remotes when their battery is empty. At this point, the LEDs will turn solid (they will stop flashing), indicating the charge is complete. You will notice that the movement of the LEDs on both your Remotes and the Receiver’s dots will stop. They will remain still and lit; this means your Remotes are fully charged.
Leaving the Remotes in the Receiver when fully charged won’t damage their batteries.
Here are information about the batteries.
Equipped with a Lithium-ion battery.
A battery delivers up to ten hours of performance.
USB power and charge (laptop, USB hub, brick charger on outlet).
- Avoid using any fast charger as they may deliver an inconsistent power output.
Full battery charge in 2 hours.
Automated charge: charging stops at full battery; the 100% charged Remote can be left in the dock.
Good to know
Avoid discharging the Remotes completely and then storing them or not charging them for a long time.
Do not try to replace the battery yourself, contact us instead.
- Do not use a fast charger, this could permanently damage the unit.
The batteries should be charged at least every 6 months to keep them healthy. If not used for a long time, they may not charge again.
Battery consumption
The battery consumption of the Remotes is directly related to their radio communication since the more powerful the radio signal needs to be, the more battery power is required.
The environment in which you use Phase is a key factor since “noisy” ones (in terms of radio signals) demand a stronger radio communication to guarantee stability. This means the battery will drain faster.
Last but not least, the Firmware version you have installed is crucial. To maximize your battery life, make sure you have updated your Phase to the latest Firmware version.
